Popular Wedding Trends

Every bride wants a wedding that is uniquely hers and one that displays her own sense of style and personal taste. Times are changing, and here's how you can keep up.

In 2012, the trends seem to be shifting toward more socially

responsible, underrated weddings. Brides are swapping 1000 guests to 100 of their closest friends and family. Strictly by invitation weddings and adult only receptions are becoming the rave!

Think outside the box.

More and more couples are opting to be married in a location other than a Church. Outdoor weddings and weddings in interesting locations have become a popular way to make your wedding stand out.

Couples now choose more unusual, useful, and personalized favors to thank their guests for coming. The favors could double as place-card holders, table decorations, and even centerpiece arrangements.

A current trend is for couples to walk down separate aisles during the ceremony and meet together in front of their guests.

Photo guest books remain popular, and also the display of a matter and framed without glass photograph of the couple's engagement pictures on a ease at the ceremony entrance, which gets signed by guests. Some couples have their guests to sign a scroll that later gets framed.

The Top Wedding Themes are
*The Garden Theme

*The Winter Wonderland Theme

*The Vintage Glamour Theme

*The Woodland Or Rustic Theme

Ultimately, what makes a wedding unique is how you personalize it for you!
Think outside the box, it's OK to break a few rules :)

Wedding Dress Trend- 2012

The Horsehair Trim- No worries, it's synthetic! Often used on underskirts, the horsehair is now lavishly looped sash or a bodice detail on dresses. Dramatically adding volume and dimension giving a modern textural look.

The Lace Sleeves- a sleeker, more contemporary version of the engulfed young Pricess Diana so many years ago. The regal look has become the trend inspired by Kate Middleton and what she might have worn.

The Blush- Going against the traditional white or ivory hue has until recently seemed rather odd. This season, blush and pink shades appeared on dozens of runways, marking it's official debut as a wedding gown hue!

The Two-Tiered Skirts- This season, the peplum detail from previous seasons have been exaggerated and this time look ubberfab! Best way to camouflage wider hips.

The Illusion Necklines- A sheer and often embellished layer of fabric
Veils skin that would otherwise be exposed. Great alternative to the
"Bolero"! Takes trashy to classy :)

The Fringe: Not just on cowgirls anymore, now on wedding dresses!

The Cape: Great Cover-up!

The Cap-Sleeve: Elegant!

Top 10 Bridesmaid dresses

According to "The Knot", here are the Top 10 Bridesmaid dresses for Spring 2012.

Reception Dress or NOT?

We noted the growing trend especially in our 2011 brides! The Reception dress.

Staying in one wedding dress makes sense on all levels. I mean you spent thousands of dollars( Euros, Naira,Pounds, Dinars, Yen...) on your look so why not enjoy it the rest of the day.

Some however consider comfort on the dance floor and others want the change to be playful and make a bold statement.

Changing into a reception dress may also be a case of culture and not comfort.

When you plan for Change, plan for a changing room nearby wit hall the items necessary to make the switch already in place. Keep shoes, extra nylons, any hair and makeup touch up essentials and of course your dress in a convenient location to make a quick dash to the
next dress. Enlist the aid of your bridesmaids during the cocktail hour to help you change so that the process is quick and without incident.

Below are a few of my Favorite Ideas fro a reception dress from the Marchesa 2012 Resort Collection.
